RENT A BOAT WITH SKIPPER
Book a skipper and get only great experiences
No matter if it’s the first time you charter a boat in Croatia or if you have done it many times before a skipper will add a lot of value to your holiday experience. Not only will you have a trained professional who will make sure you have a safe and pleasant experience no matter where you go but you will also get a private guide for the week. You will have someone that keeps track of the weather and can modify the planned route in order to get the best sailing experience but equally important, book the best restaurants and keep the boat’s exterior in the best possible condition.
Matching crew and skipper
We always do our best to match the skipper with the crew. We do this by both trying to meet as many criterias if you have any as a client and we also look at the crew list. The criterias could be anything from language preferences to expected other activities to take place during your stay and we choose skippers that enjoy sailing with kids onboard the most when they are on the crew list.
6 Quick questions to a skipper
Why did you become a skipper?
As many of us I grew up sailing dinghies and also racing in various regattas. As I got older I studied the marine industrie at university and tourism and becoming a skipper was a natural next step for me. In the winter I work as a ski instructor, mostly for fun, but at sea is where I belong. A big passion of mine is also to meet new people and it makes my job the best in the world.
What's your favorite part about being a skipper?
As I said, meeting people is what’s most important. But also showing my home country and all the amazing things it has to offer. There are so many hidden gems and new ones keep coming as well.
What is a suitable tip to the skipper?
This is kind of a tricky topic since it varies a lot depending on where the guests are coming from. But I would put it like this; If you are happy with the service I’ve provided I’ll be very happy for some tip. Usually it ranges from anywhere between 100€ and 500€ per week and can be even more, usually it corresponds with the size of the boat for obvious reasons. Of Course the money in itself is a great reward but it’s also a great sign of appreciation and feedback of the work I’ve done for my guests.
What kind of boat do you prefer to sail?
Personally a regular sailing boat around 50ft I really enjoy. Boat is big enough to handle most weather conditions well and still “small” enough to fit in most places. The Catamarans are also really great mostly because of the social areas.
How do you plan the route?
I wouldnt say its me planning the route myself. I usually ask my guests what there expectations are and we create it together from the. The input from the guest could be anything from certain places to a number of different kinds of cineries they what to experience. Of Course I also present my own favourites.
What can your client expect from you as a skipper?
That i’ll always have their best interest at heart when doing everything from planning the route, operating the boat and booking restaurants. I also love to educate so if anyone whats to learn more about sailing I’m happy to teach!
